Strategy
The Centre for Personalised Medicine (CPM) was formed in 2013 and has been a crucial communication, engagement and scholarship platform for research into a broad range of personalised medicine topics.
As we enter the second decade of the CPM, we are excited to share the Strategic Plan for the CPM which outlines the vision, mission and strategic priorities for the CPM from 2024 to 2030:
- Our vision is that effective personalised medicine should be available for all.
- Our mission is to be a trusted and collaborative partner, supporting the development of equitable and effective personalised medicine; identifying appropriate questions; facilitating constructive debate; and developing solutions across disciplines and audiences. This will be delivered across a wide range of approaches and activities.
- Our strategic priorities are to deliver our mission through three core priorities with three supporting methods whilst continuing to seek creative ways of engaging relevant audiences, including: academics; charities; clinicians; industry; patient groups; policy makers; publics; and students.
The CPM will focus its efforts on a series of topics within six broad and overlapping themes:
These themes which will inform the set of topics that the CPM focusses its activities on each year. For 2024/25, these topics are:
- Newborn screening
- Cancer vaccines (precision prevention)
- Direct-to-consumer genetic testing
