Professor Maggie Wang
Professor Maggie Wang’s research interest is genome interpretation by developing novel statistical genetics methods. She has published over 160 peer-reviewed papers in journals including Nature Medicine, Nature Communications, PLoS Genetics, Nucleic Acids Research, etc. The applications of her methods cover improved prediction model for human disease outcomes, biomarker identification, mutation predictions, vaccine effectiveness prediction and vaccine antigen design.
Professor Maggie Wang is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She obtained PhD degree in Statistics and Bachelor degree in Physics from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She was a Visiting Scholar of the Columbia University in 2009 and Stanford University in 2016. Dr. Wang is the recipient of the Excellent Young Scientist Fund from National Science Foundation of China 2023, and the Research Excellence Award and Young Researcher Award 2022 in the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Dr. Wang is an Associate Editor of Human Genetics (Springer) and a council member of the Bioinformatics Society of China (prep). She served as a board member of the International Genetics Epidemiology Society (IGES) in 2021 – 2023.
